The First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, on Wednesday congratulated the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu, on his 70th birthday.
This is contained in a statement in Port Harcourt by the media aide to the First Lady, Mr Ayo Adewuyi.
According to the statement, Mrs Jonathan describes Oba Akiolu a father and role model.
“Oba Akiolu is like a father and a monarch who has brought his intellectual capacity to bear on traditional institutions in Nigeria and the revered stool of Lagos.
”Each time I pay courtesy calls on the Oba, I appreciate his intelligence and royal counsel which have impacted positively on me,” the statement said.
The first lady wished the Oba “sound health, long life and increased wisdom” to enable him to serve not only the people of Lagos, but Nigeria and humanity”.
Akiolu, who ascended the throne in 2003, attained the age of 70 years on Tuesday. (NAN)
