Hulk Hogan: I Contemplated Suicide When I Hit Rock Bottom

Hulk Hogan-I Contemplated Suicide When I Hit Rock Bottom
Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan said he ‘hit rock bottom’ and contemplated suicide after his marriage broke up, reality show was cancelled and his son faced jail time.
The 60-year-old former professional wrestler opened up about the dark time in his life on the Oprah Winfrey Network show Where Are They Now? during an episode broadcast on Sunday.
The Hulkmania hero, whose real name is Terry Bollea, said his life started to fall apart after cancellation of his reality show Hogan Knows Best, which also starred his former wife Linda.

‘After the show I kinda hit rock bottom. Everything got dark, everything happened at once,’ Hogan said.
‘I was drinking alcohol very heavily. It just all kept piling up, it all kept mounting and mounting I didn’t know how to handle it,’ he continued.
‘I always wondered how could someone possibly take their own life, and so I got to that point where I said, ”You know what, maybe this would be easy. You know, maybe this would be an easy way to fix things.”’ he said.
Hogan said a New Year’s Eve incident in Miami finally helped him get past the dark days.
After fleeing a dinner table due to its negativity, Hogan said ‘some kid ran up and hugged me and was like, ”Oh I grew up watching you. I didn’t have a dad, you’re like a dad to me.”
And there was another person that said ”Hey Hulk, we love you.”’ Hogan said he had an epiphany and began removing negativity from his life.
‘I got sick and tired of being sick and tired,’ he said.
Hogan and Linda’s divorce was finalized in 2009 and he married Jennifer McDaniel in December 2010.
