After intense consultations, a decision has been reached to present to Lagos voters a Christian candidate for the gubernatorial race in 2015.
Among those who were part of the consultations included eminent Christians leaders and clerics who committed themselves to mobilise their faithful to voting overwhelmingly for the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate if a Christian is chosen to run the race.
After a thorough search, the APC leadership has found a willing and reliable Christian candidate in Ayo Gbeleyi. He is said to be of exceptional brilliance and intelligence.
Christian leaders are delighted. They interpret the beaming of the searchlight on Gbeleyi as sign that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has heeded and responded to them accordingly.
The church leaders had argued that Moslems have successively governed Lagos state since the inception of democracy. They even claimed that Christians can perform better if given the privilege.
