The old man pictured kneeling down before President Jonathan is called Dalhatu Tafida. Dalhatu has been in the public service for 45 years since the regime of President Shehu Shagari.
He was a Commissioner for Health for 4 years and Minister of Health for 5 years. He was a Senator for 8 years. Nigeria’s High Commissioner (Ambassador) to UK for about 6 years now. And he is 73 years old while president Jonathan is 55.
He was already a national leader when Jonathan was still a teacher but as you can see in the photo above, he's on his knees to talk and explain issues to President Goodluck Jonathan even in the presence of the President's wife, Patience.
