Top 5 weight loss mistakes to avoid

Crash dieting is another commonweight lossmistake most people commit. Even if such diets help you lose weight fast, they possess a number of health risks and there is a very high chance of gaining back all the weight lost once you stop dieting.

1. Skipping meals:

Many people resort to skipping meals, because they think it is a good way to cut down oncalories. But this is one of the worst weight loss mistakes one can commit. When you skip meals, your bodys survival mechanism, slows down your metabolism to prevent you from starving. Also, this process of skipping meals will only make you hungrier and induce you to binge eat later on. Opting for several small meals all throughout the day is a much better option than eating two or three large meals.

Even when on a diet, we often forget about those 3 pm coffee breaks or happy hour. These liquids are bombarded with calories and can be a major glitch in your plan to lose weight. Also, watch out for healthy juices and smoothies as they may boost your health but they are high in calories.

3. Using artificial sweetener:

Sweets take a bad toll on your waistline but opting for artificial sweeteners may not be such a good idea. Studies suggest that many zero-calorie sweeteners are fake and can cause more weight gain than actual sugar. These artificial sweeteners confuse your digestive system and compromise your ability to burn calories, thereby increasing food cravings.
4. Eating in front of the TV:

Eating in front of the TV accounts for mindless eating and can sabotage your diet. When you repeatedly eat in front of the TV, your mind begins to associate food with that situation. Thus, this usually causes situation-triggered eating, which can ruin your weight loss plans. When you eat at the table, you are aware of how much you are eating and will not overeat in any way.
